Highlights of the 2022/23 season included his debut with the Orchestra della Toscana (Italy) and Athens Philharmonia Orchestra (Greece). In 2024 he opened the season of Lausanne Sinfonietta.
His mentors include such personalities as Paavo and Neeme Järvi, Daniele Gatti, and Vladimir Fedoseev.
His symphonic activity includes such orchestras as the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana (Switzerland), Orchestra della Toscana, Carlovy Vary Philharmonic Orchestra (Czech Republic), Athens Philharmonia Orchestra (Greece), The Rousse Philharmonic Orchestra (Bulgaria), Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra (Russia), Orchestra Giovanile Italiana (Italy), Baltic Sea Philharmonic (Germany), Orchestra del Teatro Comunale San Teodoro (Italy), and the Estonian Youth Orchestra.
Arseniy has collaborated with extraordinary musicians such as Kurt Masur, Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Mario Venzago, Arturo Tamayo, Ennio Morricone, Martha Argerich, Mikhail Pletnev, Stefano Bollani, Julia Fischer, and Gidon Kremer.
Arseniy grew up in a family of musicians — his father is a conductor, his mother a violinist. He completed his studies in Moscow (Central Music School) and in 2011 came to Switzerland to continue his studies in Lugano (Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana) as bassoonist with Gábor Meszáros, and in Zurich (Zurich University of the Arts) as conductor with Christof Brunner and Marc Kissóczy.
As a bassoonist, Arseniy plays at major classical music festivals such as Usedom Music Festival, Schleswig-Holstein, Beethovenfest, Rheingau Musik Festival, and Sommerfest Bad Kissingen. He performs as bassoonist with orchestras such as Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, Basler Festival Orchestra, Baltic Sea Philharmonic, Kammerphilharmonie Graubünden, Orchestra Verdi, and Symphonisches Orchester Zürich, among others.
Arseniy is also active in jazz music. In 2018 he released the album "Canon" with the group The Sharp Shock, and in October his album "Bassoonova" (music by A. Jobim) was released, entering the iTunes charts as Best Jazz Album in Finland. His music is regularly played on the radio in Brazil and Switzerland.
Arseniy aims to promote diversity and bring together cultures and traditions through music. In 2017, he founded an association to support and promote young artists.

United Soloists Orchestra
The United Soloists Orchestra is a symphony orchestra consisting of the most talented young soloists from around the world, selected by competition. The aim of this orchestra is to present young and talented artists in every concert, promoting different cultures and traditions from around the world through music. Founder and musical director Arseniy Shkaptsov calls it “a new platform for discovering and promoting young talents from the art industry.”

The Sharp Shock
Sharp Shock has one of the most unusual formations on today's music scene. This international band consists of Russian bassoon player Arseniy Shkaptsov, Serbian saxophonist and clarinetist Đorđe Kujundžić, American guitarist Chris Moy, German pianist Andi Heinrich, and Swiss drummer Enea Besana. Born in 2015, this eclectic group combines varied influences to create a unique blend of jazz, funk, fusion and contemporary classical music. Sharp Shock is based in Lugano, Switzerland.
